Student Code of Conduct
Introduction
This Student Code of Conduct Guide provides a clear framework for the behavior expected of an undergraduate student on college campuses and in BUC campus and hostels. It aims to foster a supportive, respectful and productive learning environment while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. The Student Counseling Section aims to help students become responsible and respected individuals, capable of making sound decisions that reflect maturity, empathy, and accountability.

General Behavioral Guidelines
- Respect for others:
- Peers, faculty, and staff should be treated with kindness and respect, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Bullying, harassment (physical, verbal or online) or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or any other factor will not be tolerated.
- Students must respect other people’s property and personal spaces, especially in common areas.
- Nothing that affects or disdains the monotheistic religions or provokes religious, sectarian, partisan, factional or tribal strife must not be said or done.
- You should not practice any political, religious, sectarian, partisan, factional or electoral activity without obtaining prior approval from the college administration .
- No act must be said or practiced that affects religion, belief, honor or the dignity of others, violates the proper conduct of conduct, contradicts the right character of the student, offends modesty, or harms the reputation of the State, its flag, emblem or symbols.
- You must not say or practice an act that affects the reputation of the college, its employees or affiliates.
- It is forbidden to threaten, insult, or assault by word or deed against a faculty member or a member of the college, students, employees, or employees of companies or institutions operating in the college.
- Academic Integrity:
- Prohibit plagiarism, cheating and academic dishonesty in any unacceptable form.
- Students are expected to follow the guidelines provided by teachers regarding collaboration and individual work.
- It is forbidden to cheat in exams by any means, to initiate, participate in or assist in it, or to obtain exam questions before they are held illegally, and to cheat by introducing the student instead of him in the exams, or entering him instead of others, or initiating it.
- Fraud is prohibited in research, reports, practical and field trainings, graduation projects, master’s and doctoral theses.
- It is forbidden to impersonate others in any of the matters related to the college and its affairs, or to give documents, documents or identities of the college to others with the intention of using them illegally or to speak on behalf of the college without an official capacity or prior approval from the college administration .
- It is forbidden to falsify certificates or documents, or to use forgedcertificates or documents, whether issued by the college or outside it, as long as they are related to the student’s relationship with the college or the procedures of study therein, or to deliberately destroy all or some of their content , or to follow an illegal method to obtain them.
- Boarding Hostel:
- A clean and respectful environment must be maintained in the hostel.
- Noise should be kept to a minimum during the specified quiet hours (for example, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.).
- The privacy of roommates and colleagues in common spaces must be respected.
- The rules of residence in the college dormitories must not be violated, or late for the specified dates for attendance, or overnight outside the dormitories without an acceptable excuse, or making any change in the housing or its contents, or leaving the college or hostel, in violation of the system and instructions issued by the college administration.
- College Campus :
- You must follow the course schedules offered by the college and attend the lectures on time.
- College campus rules regarding curfews, entry areas, and appropriate use of public facilities must be followed.
- You must refrain from engaging in any physical brawls, theft or vandalism of public property.
- It is forbidden to disrupt or incite study or refrain from attending lectures or other university work that are required by thethe regulations governing them .
- It is forbidden to violate the order, discipline and proper conduct of study in the college and its facilities or the rules followed during lectures, exams, seminars or activities held inside the college or one of its facilities or those held outside it and in which the college participates.
- No student has the right to unjustly view the confidential information of any of the college’s employees, publish it, or instruct others on how to obtain it.
- It is forbidden to hold or participate in any activities or events within the college , or to issue publications, flyers or posters or participate in their distribution, or to collect funds, donations or signatures without the prior approval of the college administration.
- It is forbidden to misuse, damage or sabotage the college’s facilities or property, modify or transfer them without the approval of the college administration , or behavior that affects the cleanliness of the college and its facilities or attempt to do so.
- It is forbidden to bring a firearm, even if it is licensed, a bladed weapon, possession of flammable or explosive materials, the introduction of any materials that can be used for an illegal purpose for the college or its facilities, or the threat of using any of the same.
- Use of technology :
- Technology (such as computers and mobile phones) must be used responsibly.
- Cyberbullying, sharing inappropriate content, or violating privacy (such as secretly registering someone) is prohibited.
- Modern technologies should not be used for a purpose contrary to ethics and ethics to harm the college or one of its affiliates.
- It is forbidden to possess devices, films, photos, tapes, newspapers or magazines containing anything contrary to morals and ethics within the college or one of its facilities.
- Personal Responsibility :
- Students are expected to be held accountable for their actions and the consequences of behavioral violations..
- Public taste in dress, clothing and body must be adhered to in line with the Islamic and social values of Omani society, and the instructions issued by the college in this regard.
- The student must not provide incorrect data, refrain from submitting identification papers, or not follow the instructions of the college security staff.
- In the event of disputes or disagreements with colleagues or anyone affiliated with the college, students should seek help from the Student Counseling Section or trusted concerned staff before the problem worsens.
- The student shall be responsible for committing any other violation that the college deems to constitute a violation of the regulations, instructions or decisions for which there is no provision in these regulations , and the college reserves the right to impose a penalty on any student who did not abide by any instructions or regulations issued by the college administration.
Supportive measures
- Counseling sessions: Individual or group counseling sessions will be offered to students with behavioral problems to help identify underlying problems and develop better coping strategies.
- Mediation and Conflict Resolution: Counseling counselors will facilitate student conflict resolution meetings to help resolve interpersonal conflicts in a peaceful manner.
- Parent Notification: Parents or guardians will be involved at different stages of the correctional process to ensure a collaborative effort in improving student behavior.
